Signs Your Hormones Are Out of Balance (And What to Do)

Hormones regulate nearly every aspect of your health - from mood and energy to sleep and skin. When your hormones are out of balance, your body sends warning signs that shouldn’t be ignored. Recognising the common symptoms of hormone imbalance is the first step to restoring your natural balance and feeling like yourself again.

What Is Hormone Imbalance?

Hormones are chemical messengers that control vital functions such as metabolism, reproductive health, stress response, and sleep cycles. A hormonal imbalance occurs when your body produces too much or too little of these hormones, disrupting your wellbeing.

Common causes of hormone imbalance include:

  • Perimenopause and menopause

  • Chronic stress and poor lifestyle habits

  • Nutrient deficiencies such as magnesium deficiency

  • Medical conditions like thyroid disorders

Common Signs Your Hormones Are Out of Balance

Look out for these symptoms of hormonal imbalance:

  • Irregular or missed periods: Changes in menstrual cycles, often a sign of perimenopause or hormonal disruption.

  • Mood swings, anxiety, and irritability: Fluctuating estrogen and progesterone can impact brain chemistry and emotional health.

  • Sleep difficulties: Trouble falling or staying asleep can be linked to hormone shifts and low magnesium levels.

  • Hot flashes and night sweats: Classic signs of menopause caused by estrogen fluctuations.

  • Fatigue and low energy: Hormones influence metabolism and energy production, so imbalance can cause persistent tiredness.

  • Weight gain around the belly: Often due to elevated cortisol and insulin imbalance.

  • Skin changes: Acne, dryness, or thinning skin resulting from hormonal shifts.

As above I have been using the cream also and my periods have stopped for 2 months so far. Before this I have been like clockwork. I have also started getting acne on my face since using the cream, I haven’t had that for 30 years. What do you think I should do. I started taking the cream as I was having heavy periods. Thanks.

Hello,
Since I started the cream, I have my period stopped for two months.
should I continue using it or stop? Particularly I don’t know when to take a break, should I follow the protocol of three weeks of usage and one week taking a break?
